On the heels of his success as founder of DaBluz Crew, Ken has embarked on the fast track with his new project Kenny and the Crew...An American Bluz Original!  Musician, song writer, and producer, he has songs in rotation on radio stations in nine countries, including the U.S. The 2008 touring schedule will see Kenny and the Crew at fairs, festivals, and clubs throughout the western region of the United States.

Ken plays an edgy, straight-forward, melodic blues guitar.  He utilizes complex chord-structures which are filled with dynamics.  On stage Ken's playing speaks a distinct, innovative, and original sound, influenced by "trail-blazers" Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Brian Setzer.  Ken loves playing to the crowd and during each performance, he often leaves the stage to mingle with the audience and boogie on the dance floor.

This talented, innovative band is the creation of Ken Westeren, guitar player and song writer extraordinaire!  They play a sophisticated mix of original blues, jazz, classic rock, and covers with blues roots.  Look for them soon at a fair, festival, or club in a city near you!  With Jaime McCrary's amazing vocals, Kris Frankson's oustanding beat, and Tim Winter's dynamic bass ~ it's a "get-up-and-dance" good time you won't want to miss AND will be talking about until the next show!
Kris Frankson has been playing the drums for over 14 years.  He began at age ten and upon graduating from high school, moved from his native northern California to attend the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles.  There he expanded on his rock and R&B roots to learn about jazz, blues, and Latin drumming while also maintaining a very busy show schedule with the rock band Gringo Star

After graduating in 2003, Kris moved back up north and began playing in the R&B band
East Bay Mud.  He played with "The Mudd" for close to a year; and has since done freelance gigs and started a teaching practice.

He brings expertise from his diverse musical background in creating a dynamic, energy-filled percussion sound.  Kris is a welcome addition to
Kenny and the Crew and adds an enthusiastic, can't-sit-still beat to every performance!
Jaime McCrary has been singing for most of her life.  Some of her earliest memories include her grandmother sitting her on the piano to sing The Sound of Music.  All the family gatherings included music, singing, and an old-fashioned good time!  Music always has been and continues to be a major part of her life.  In her spare time, she teaches piano to younger, beginning students.

Performing on stage is Jaime's passion!  Audiences are drawn in by her pure, clear voice and captivating presence.  She has been influenced throughout her musical career by talented women like Patsy Cline, Etta James, Eva Cassidy, Norah Jones, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, and Janis Joplin.  From country to blues to rock ~ she loves them all.

Don't miss the oppportunity to hear Jaime sing live with
Kenny and the Crew.  She puts her heart and soul into every song and you won't soon forget it!

Tim Winter was raised in southern California and started playing guitar at the age of 12.  He began with rock music and then quickly turned to jazz.

In 1980 Tim attended the Guitar Institute of Technology and in 1981 he left southern California for Grass Valley to begin college.  While attending Sierra Community College, Tim's principle interest was music ~ viola performance.  He played viola in
Music in the Mountains and various chamber groups in the area.  During the same time, Tim played guitar in various jazz bands in Grass Valley and in the Sierra College jazz band.  He was chosen for California All State Junior College Jazz Band 1982.

Tim migrated further north and from 1984-1987 attended University of Puget Sound to complete a BA in Music.  After graduating, he stayed in Washington and continued to play viola in a chamber group.  Playing the guitar took a back seat for a while and Tim moved to Longview Washington around 1997.  He continued playing viola, but more importantly, started playing and teaching guitar again.

In 2002, life took Tim south to Austin Texas.  It was then that his serious interest in playing bass began.  Tim played with the groups
Caldwell Shine and Acustyka.  He returned to Grass Valley last fall and is looking forward to pursuing a lively musical future.

Tim sums up his musical background this way... "Started playing guitar... came to his senses and now plays bass...... :-)}"

Tim brings a seriously infectious and contagious enthusiasm for the blues to
Kenny and the Crew.  Audiences are awed by his talent, passion, and energy!  He lays down a bass line that is truly inspiring...
